“A brand and branding are different concepts. A brand exists in your mind. Branding is the process of creating signals that generate the perceptions.”
– The Edge: 50 Tips from Brands that Lead by Allan Adamson
Identifying and knowing your audience or target market is the absolute most important thing for any business owner to do. You have a product or service that you are wanting to sell. You need to focus on who would use that service, what pain points are they struggling with, and how your product solves their problems.
As a female entrepreneur and brand strategist, I do everything I can to learn more about growing my brand online. I need as much knowledge about digital marketing and SEO that I can get. More than technical knowledge, I need inspirational stories about the women who did not give up when they first started their journey into growing their businesses.
We live in a world where thanks to the internet, we have lots of ways to learn more about any topic we choose. From YouTube tutorials, infographics, articles, and lately a surge in podcasts. No matter what your learning style is, you can be rest assured there is a great way to uncover more about whatever topic you want to learn more about.
Podcasts are my favorite way to gain more digital marketing knowledge. Podcasts are fabulous for me because I can throw them on while I’m driving, working, or cleaning, and get great advice on a variety of subjects. From search engine optimization, marketing tools, or entrepreneurial advice, I can turn up a podcast and gain tons of useful knowledge.
Check out some of my favorite podcasts (in no particular order) below! To make it even easier to get you hooked, I’ve highlighted some of my very favorite episodes.

The keys to dominating your brand online!
Whether you need an image for a social media graphic or to use on your actual website, the following websites are great sources for commercial / royalty free stock images!
Unsplash is by far my favorite free stock site. I love the simple layout and search feature. The images are stunning and great quality. The only downside is your specific search term might only render a few results as the library is a bit on the small side.
Similar to unsplash with a smaller collection but great images.
Category specific sections make it efficient to locate images. I really like the collection of business images here.
A great resource for web designers. Free icons, templates, and stock photos. Broken down into niche specific categories making it easy to find what you need for specific projects and graphics.
What are some of your favorite free stock sites that I didn’t list?
Hello and welcome!
My name is Micah. I’m the solopreneur and brand strategist behind She Does Branding. I started this company to serve as a resource for like-minded women who want to dominate their brand’s online presence. I’ll teach you how to get organized, leverage online marketing, and use your own resources to maintain your brand’s image online. You’ll learn the fundamental tools needed to grow your brand substantially! Learn how to create value, grow your audience, and increase your profits!
But what kind of experience do you have?!
While this is a new vision for me – I’m not new to internet marketing or design. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything, but I know a helluva lot about this stuff. I started building websites when I was 12-years-old. That lead to my first online web design business when I was 16. Through a lot of learning, work experience, and trial and error, I’ve learned a lot. From graphic design, to web development, social media marketing, and running a business on my own. My path is not the norm, but it’s what has allowed me to gain so much knowledge in so many areas of digital marketing. I am in love with branding, online marketing, and strong women. That is why I believe my purpose is to inspire fellow babes to take ownership of their brand (business or personal) and boost it to the highest heights!
So here I am! This is me planting my flag. I’ll be very open and honest with you about my successes, my failures, and will continue to learn with you! I look forward to getting to know all of you and helping you grow your brand online. If you would like to learn more about me feel free to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
